Mission Statement
The Federal Bureau of Investigation Tampa Bay Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBITBCAAA) is a nonprofit, community-based and supported organization, distinct and separate from the FBI, designed to promote a safer community through community service projects and a process of educating business, labor, media, medical, minority, religious, government, senior citizens, and other community leaders about law enforcement, with particular emphasis on the mission, resources, and limitations of the FBI.
Each member of the FBITBCAAA is a graduate of an eight-week FBI Citizens Academy which focuses on education pertaining to the priorities and investigative areas of the FBI. To be eligible to participate in the Citizens Academy, you must be a U.S. Citizen and you must be nominated by a Citizens Academy Alumni or FBI employee. Upon graduation from the Citizens Academy, Alumni are eligible to join the FBITBCAAA. Our Alumni meet periodically to continue our education on law enforcement issues. Through its many community outreach projects, our Alumni supports the FBI’s mission to promote a safer community, not just in the Tampa Bay area, but in the 18 counties protected by the Tampa Division of the FBI.
